Needed Items
Many have asked what the needs are in Canaan and what can they use. First off they can all use your Prayers as well for everyone else in Haiti. For tangible items they need the following.
- Tents
- Bed Sheets
- Diapers (cloth diapers are best)
- Baby Formula
- Pedia Lyte
- Toiletries
- Towels
- Garbage bags
- Flashlights (solar powered if possible, or include batteries)
- Coleman Lanterns (solar-powered if possible)
- Large Tarps
- Nylon Rope
- Bungee Cords
- Empty Diesel Cans
- Gauze
- Pharmaceuticals (over-the-counter items, aspirin, tylenol, advil, cold medicines, anti-diarrhea, pepcide, tagamet, benadril, cortisone etc.)
- Blood pressure cuffs, Stethescopes, Thermometers etc.
- Alcohol swaps
- Peroxide
- Band-Aids
- Antibiotic cream (neosporin or the like)
- Latex gloves
- Surgical masks
- Purell (hand sanitizer)
- Wet wipes (baby wipes – unscented)
- Flip-Flops (new – children, adolescents, adult sizes)
- Washcloths
- Hotel soap
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste (small)
- Peanut Butter (large plastic jars preferred)
- Rice
- Beans (pinto, black)
- Cooking Oil (in cans if possible)
- Flour
- Powdered milk
- Pancake mix
- Protein bars
As well as cash donations. Diesel fuel and other items can be bought in Haiti, but the only currency accepted by many right now is U.S. dollars, and the price of fuel and other items is very expensive currently.
