NEVER THIRST AGAIN

My name is Jim Seidel, president and founder of Never Thirst Again. The focus of Never Thirst Again is to reach the nation of Haiti and beyond with the powerful saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.” (1 Kings 18:36b-37). This has been my prayer for the nation of Haiti.

Never Thirst Again has two missions…

1) To present the Gospel to anyone who will listen, making disciples and equipping them to go make more disciples;

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Jesus said that he who believes in Him shall never thirst again. The water that He shall give will become a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. Once received, Jesus commissions that we go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that He commanded.

2) To take care of the poor and the needy in their time of distress.

“Undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world…” (James 1:27).

So what is this Gospel that has the power to save?

The word “gospel” simply means “good news.” The central message of the Bible is the gospel, or good news, about the person and work of Jesus Christ.

It starts with God’s holiness. God is a holy God and cannot be in the presence of sin. The Bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). There is none who does good, not one. Man’s heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. All our attempts of righteousness are like filthy rags in the eyes of God. The Bible says no one can keep his commandments perfectly. Sin is rebellion against His perfect and righteous standard.

“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear” (Isaiah 59:2).

Have you ever known someone who lies a lot? What do you call that person? You would call that person a “liar”. So how many lies does one have to tell to be classified as a liar? If you lie once, God sees you as a liar. Have you ever lied? If the answer is yes then God sees you as a liar. Revelation 21:8 says all liars shall have their place in the lake of fire. We see lying as a small thing, yet that one thing is enough to condemn you before God. Sin simply means “missing the mark”. God is infinitely Holy and cannot be in the presence of sin. For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. Any sin will separate you eternally from God.
Have you ever taken anything in your life that does not belong to you? If the answer is yes, God sees you as a thief. If you ever looked with lust Jesus said you have already committed adultery in your heart. If you have hated you have already committed murder in your heart.

Just look at the gist of the Ten Commandments
1: Put God first
2: No idols
3: Revere God’s name and don’t use it blasphemously
4: Keep the Sabbath day holy
5: Honor your parents
6: Do not murder
7: Do not commit adultery
8: Do not steal
9: Do not lie
10: Do not covet

The purpose of the law is to show your guilt before God. You are a law-breaker. If you were to die today would you stand before for God guilty or innocent? Would you go to Heaven? If God is just, sin needs to be paid for. The same way a good judge would not just forgive a murderer and let him go free, God cannot just forgive us. We have broken the law. We deserve to be punished. According to the Bible, we deserve hell and God’s wrath.

HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS!! God made a way so that you and I can be reconciled to Him. God sent His only begotten son for whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). God became a man, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross taking the punishment we deserved to suffer. Jesus died in our place. He paid the price we should’ve paid. For God made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

What are you to do with this truth?

You must first recognize your guilt before God, and that you are lost and in need of salvation. You must recognize that the weight of your sin is drowning you, and that if you were to die in your sin, the next thing you would receive is God’s just punishment and wrath which is eternal hell and separation. The Bible tells us to repent and believe in the Gospel. Unless we repent we will all likewise perish. Repentance means a “change of mind” about your sin. The sin you once loved you now hate. Apparent sincerity of confession alone is never definite evidence of genuine repentance. It must be accompanied by a turning away from sin.

Wretched man I am! Who will set me free from this body of death? Romans 7:24

We need a sacrificial atonement for our sin. God, the just judge and justifier of sinful men made a way for you to be forgiven and be considered just. God did this through  Jesus who lived a sinless life to be a sin offering in your place. You must realize your guilt and accept Jesus as Lord of your life by placing your trust in His righteous atonement for you. It is a gift. In the name of Jesus Christ, believe and you will see the Glory of God!
